We are often told that the food we eat may be making us sick. But more often than not, we are not told what exactly in the food we eat has potential to make us sick. And this is why many people opt to ignore the advice given with regard to healthy eating. Most of us are, after all, people who believe in logic. Therefore, if we are told that the food we eat has potential to make us sick, we have to be shown how exactly. We have to be shown the specific ingredients in the foodstuffs we buy that have the potential to make us sick. Only then would we be in a position to deal with the entire thing. Against that background, I decided to focus on the 3 potentially harmful things in the food you eat. These are the specific ingredients that have the potential to make us sick.
The first category of potentially harmful things in the food we eat is that of preservatives. These are added to make the foodstuffs last longer. They are very potent chemicals, in whose presence microbes can’t survive. So then controversy arises, as to what the effect of such chemicals would be, when they get into our bellies (upon us eating the preserved foodstuffs).
The second category of potentially harmful things in the food we eat is that of artificial sweeteners. These are added to the foodstuffs to make them sweeter without having to use real sugar. These are controversial substances, which in animal studies have been linked to various serious illnesses.
The third category of potentially harmful things in the food we eat is that of artificial coloring agents. These are added to the foodstuffs to make them attractive to buyers’ eyes. They are supposed to be harmless, but that apparently is not always the case. They (or at least some of them) are said to have potential to cause certain illnesses in the long run.
